Consider going the extra mile (literally) for your customers this Christmas season. Here are a few examples of jewelers who travel --- to a church, to a hotel, or even to the Bahamas -- all in the interest of providing stellar customer service.

A loyal client of King Jewelers in Aventura, FL, decided at the last minute to FINALLY pop the big question, leaving their jeweler with less than two days to custom create a masterpiece engagement ring. With little direction, but a thorough understanding of his clients’ taste, Jono King produced a one-of-a-kind extraordinary piece. To add a special touch, Jono flew to a remote island in the Bahamas to personally deliver the ring on time. His client was speechless and the bride shed tears of happiness.
“Around the holidays we get a lot of last minute engagement ring and wedding band customers. A few years ago on Dec 23rd a young man came in saying that he and his fiancée were going to tie the knot in a last minute Christmas Eve ceremony. Of course he wanted something special and very custom. Not only did we get his bands carved, cast, hand engraved and set with stones- we actually delivered them to the church so he could surprise his bride, who thought she was getting a plain gold band.” Jewelsmith of Durham, NC

During the 2010 NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis, Reis-Nichols Jewelers associate, Aaron Bennett, received a phone call from a fan who was visiting for the tournament. The visitor from West Virginia was interested in a Breitling watch, but he was stuck at his downtown hotel without transportation to the store. Undaunted, Bennett assisted the gentleman to choose a watch, completed the transaction over the phone, then jumped in his car and delivered the watch to the customer at his hotel.
