Retailers look for signs of an economic comeback this holiday.

Retailers in Indiana are searching for signs in the midst of the Valentine's Day spending boon that a significant economic rebound is on the horizon. Most are anticipating high foot traffic today as customers seek out last-minute gifts for their sweeties, so stores have replenished inventories and hope to lure in eager customers with a few late promos. “As one of the biggest gift-giving holidays of the year, it’s encouraging that consumers are still exhibiting the desire to spend on discretionary gift items, a strong indication our economy continues to move in the right direction,” said National Retail Federation President and CEO Matthew Shay.
