Diamonds attractive option for Chinese investors who look for places to stash their growing wealth.

There could be a king's ransom to be made in selling diamonds in the Far East — if you can figure out how to compete with the big boys. Sure, the Chinese have been looking for a place to secure their wealth in an unpredictable economic climate. “More and more Chinese want to invest in products that have long-lasting value,” said Ari Epstein, the chief executive of Antwerp World Diamond Centre. But companies like DeBeers and Tiffany & Co. have also been encouraging demand through marketing by filling Chinese women’s magazines with fancy advertising to promote their jewels as the jewelry companies eye expansion across this rising economic power.
