You need 60 seconds to make an impact on radio

To sell more on radio, buy ads that are one minute or more.

WHY? You'll need 60 seconds to present a product, make an offer and ask for a response. And you've got to repeat your name, address and phone number, preferably three times. That's a lot to cram into a minute.

HOW? Marketing guru Jim Ackerman says that unless you're making a free offer or simply driving people to a website, don't bother with 30-second spots. And avoid the 10- and 15-second ones like the plague, unless your station is throwing them in as "free spins."
