Black Friday, even if you know exactly what it means it doesn't sound like a very cheerful way to start the holiday season. When I think about this day, I think about “homecoming for the holidays” a time of the year when family and friends reunite to “Mark the Moment”. Gathering together to share what’s new, what’s different and all those special reasons to celebrate their family.
Homecoming also means that they often return to their favorite jewelry store. The chance to rekindle memories with their family jeweler sharing the stories about when mom got that beautiful diamond or getting their Bar Mitzvah ring resized from years ago.
Whether it’s to have a battery changed in their watch or have their rings cleaned and polished giving them that little extra sparkle for the holidays. Each individual represents a customer walking through the door of your store and the potential to make a sale.
I really enjoy this opportunity to reacquaint and reconnect, by maintaining these relationships it gives me a chance to update their customer information, find out what should be on their jewelry wishlist. These are established customers who have purchased before and today are an opportunity to create additional sales, selling them gifts for other family members while they are in town. With our long standing relationship, our no hassle return policy and having the right selection of the gifts that they will love to give, I want Tappers to be “top of mind” when they are thinking about buying jewelry as a gift for the holidays.
