(PRESS RELEASE) Las Vegas, NV — The American Gem Society (AGS) announced that boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard will headline as one of the primary keynote speakers at the 2017 Conclave in Hollywood, CA.

The Conclave will take place April 5-8 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. Leonard will speak at the general session breakfast during the Society’s 83rd Conclave on Friday morning, April 7.

Leonard took home Olympic gold and fought his way to world championships in five weight classes, a record still standing today. Voted “one of the top 25 athletes of the last 25 years” by ESPN, he is an entrepreneur who started his own sports promotion firm. He has also shared his success by fighting for a worthy cause.

In 2009, Leonard and his wife founded the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation to raise funds for research and awareness toward a cure for type 1 diabetes and to help children live healthier lives through diet and exercise.

Recently, the Hollywood spotlight turned to Leonard in the movie “Hands of Stone.” The legend is portrayed by Usher in the film, which was released in August.

“Mr. Leonard’s endurance, drive and record-breaking success are a source of inspiration for millions,” says Ruth Batson, CEO of AGS and AGS Laboratories. “We look forward to his presentation and his insights on persevering through adversity, and achieving his goals through hard work, passion and dedication … traits our members share!”

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
