(Press Release)
New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), a national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, will host “Wine, Whiskey & Washington,” a members-only event to be held on Tuesday, April 12 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Top of the Town in Arlington, VA.

The evening will highlight Jewelers of America’s legislative advocacy work and feature a presentation on this year’s presidential election by one of the top journalists covering the race. The event is being held on the eve of AGS Conclave.

“In this historic election year, with jewelry industry leaders heading to D.C., this is a unique opportunity to shine a bright light on the work that is being done to fight for jewelers,” says JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte. “With lawmakers making decisions on sales tax fairness and other key issues that will impact jewelry businesses today and long into the future, having an influence is critical.”

In addition to the event building awareness for its advocacy work on Capitol Hill and the Jewelers of America Political Action Committee (JAPAC), the event will also feature a wine and whiskey tasting, a sit-down dinner, and a keynote presentation on the 2016 elections by a Washington insider.

“Wine, Whiskey & Washington” is sponsored by Synchrony Financial. Transportation to and from the AGS Conclave hotel, Hyatt Regency Crystal City, will be provided.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
