(Press Release)
MONUMENT, CO – Jewelry industry consultant/sales trainer Shane Decker and jeweler marketing coach Jim Ackerman are teaming up for a two-day sales and marketing “boot camp” for independent jewelers, to be held in Denver, CO on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11, 2016.

The duo has dedicated themselves to providing jewelers with tools they can use heading into the holiday season to increase traffic, sales and profits.

“There is no doubt that application of specific selling techniques can make a dramatic impact on sales results,” Decker says. “The challenge is, it’s not just about knowledge of these techniques, it’s about building skills and systems for their use. And that is almost impossible to do in the one- and two-hour presentations I’m limited to in most of my speaking engagements. Having two intensive days to help attendees actually work on these things could geometrically improve the every-day results they get.”

Co-presenter, Jim Ackerman echoes Decker’s sentiments from the marketing side. “Nobody surpasses Shane when it comes to sales techniques and training for jewelers,” he says. “But your salespeople can’t apply Shane’s procedures until you get bodies through the door. That’s where marketing know-how, skills, habits and systems come in. But it’s tough to convey more than a few what-to-dos, in seminars, books and audio training. This two-day format will allow both of us to help jewelers actually install profit-proven sales and marketing methods in their businesses.”

Ackerman went on to say that with all the upheaval in the world of advertising – the demise of the yellow pages and newspapers and the rise of the digital media – jewelers are presented with a challenge. He suggests the boot camp will address this challenge and change the way jewelers do business.

Attendance is limited to 157 stores, and enrollees will receive substantial pre and post-event assignments and follow-up, to make sure boot camp time is most productive for every individual participant and effective implementation is assured for each store.

In addition to a roughly even division of time between Decker and Ackerman during the two day-long sessions, there will be a three-hour evening session specifically for owners addressing a variety of sales, marketing, management, merchandising, inventory, pricing and promotional issues

The exclusive event carries a hefty price tag at $2,500 per chair, but when considered against what participants would have to pay for either of these two jewelry industry gurus consulting or coaching services, value will exceed cost geometrically. Early bird enrollees can save up to half, depending upon how early you reserve your spot. Further information about the event content and pre- and post-requirements can be found at ultimatejewelrysalesbootcamp.com.

“We’ll have more information forthcoming in the coming weeks and months,” Decker says. “But one thing I can tell you right now is that every attendee’s investment will be absolutely protected with our unprecedented, performance-based, ‘Triple Fail-Safe Guarantee.’” Decker recommends going to the website to discover the details of the guarantee.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
