A fisherman in the Philippines found a 75-pound pearl, then kept it under his bed as a good luck charm for 10 years, the Daily Mail reports. The pearl, possibly worth $100 million, is one foot wide and 2.2 feet long, the article says. The current world’s biggest pearl, the Pearl of Allah, weighs 14 pounds and is worth $35 million. The fisherman found the pearl when his anchor got stuck on the shell containing it. He didn’t realize its value. He recently turned it over to local tourism officials after a fire forced him to move. The gem awaits authentication by the Gemologist Institute.
