(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — Fashion jewelry brand Brevani/Color Merchants announces that it has achieved full certification by the Responsible Jewelry Council.

In a two-year process that resulted in an independent third-party audit, Brevani/Color Merchants has achieved the highest level of certification in accordance with the RJC’s 2019 Code of Practices. The RJC standards provide a guideline for companies to address sustainable and responsible business practices that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) adopted by all UN member states. This certification adds to the growing list of RJC Certified companies within The Plumb Club.

This achievement demonstrates Brevani/Color Merchants’ commitment to providing sustainably and ethically sourced products from conflict-free factories and countries, as well as upholding responsible and ethical human rights, social, and environmental practices. The certification process requires all companies and individuals within the Brevani/Color Merchants supply chain to meet specific standards that ensure responsibility throughout the entire supply chain from mine to market and must be renewed every 3 years.

In addition to certification, Brevani/Color Merchants Director of Operations, Jordan Peck has also been nominated and elected to the RJC’s Sustainable Development Global Taskforce which was established in January 2021. The task force is dedicated to supporting the RJC’s Roadmap to 2030 and beyond by reporting on key aspects of the UN’s 5 pillars of sustainable development.

“For over 30 years, we have built our reputation on honesty, respect, and ethical practices so this milestone demonstrates our core values and is something we are extremely proud to have earned. The process has allowed us to identify opportunities for improvement within our growing organization and implement the processes needed to address them head-on,” Jordan stated. “As Plumb Club members, we feel the partnership with RJC is an extremely important initiative to lead the industry into the future and further solidify the trust that both the end consumer and our retail partners have in us.”

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
