(press release) NEW YORK — In an effort to incorporate a unique element to their JCK presentation and drive traffic to their booth, Christopher Designs will hold a raffle drawing for an original oil painting created by founder and designer Christopher Slowinski at the upcoming Luxury/JCK Vegas show. The draw will take place on Sunday, June 3 in the afternoon at the Christopher Designs booth, LUX-1321 and will be open to all retailers who schedule and attend an appointment with the designer brand (no purchase necessary).

The conceptual art painting, entitled “Blended Sensibility,” is oil on canvas and measures 30” X 30”. The piece was painted by the designer himself, and was inspired by one of his spring trips to London. The scene depicts a mélange of architectural styles in pastel shades of yellow, pink and blue.

“As a designer,” says Slowinski, “I’m always fascinated by how disparate styles can merge to create something unique. Nowhere is this more prevalent than in London, a city founded in 50 AD. The city is so incredibly 21st century, but with a history and varying architectural styles that date back to Roman times. Design sensibilities from both modern and ancient times sit side by side, but work together to create something truly wondrous.”

In addition to being the founder and designer behind the brand, Christopher Slowinski is also the inventor and diamond cutter behind the patented Crisscut and L’Amour Crisscut diamond cuts. This unique process provides maximum light performance and increased size perception of the stones.

Once the winner is selected, the painting will be shipped by Christopher Designs to the winning retailer. To make an appointment please call your Christopher Designs sales representative or contact Margaret Becker, Vice President of Global Sales at (212) 381-1013 ext. 1522 or margo@christopherdesigns.com

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
