Kay Jewelers’ Facebook Page Flooded With ‘Horror Stories’ About Damaged and Missing Engagement Rings

After reviewing all the comments made on Kay Jewelers’ Facebook page between February and April, Buzzfeed News says it counted 39 consumer complaints regarding lost engagement and wedding rings, bad repairs and misplaced inspection records. The article leads with a newlywed couple who brought an engagement ring to their local Kay store for an inspection. When they were told that the ring had a loose stone, it was transferred to Jared (a Kay-owned chain) for the repair, only to never be seen again. The Kay Facebook page, according to the article, is “flooded with similar horror stories from customers who say their rings have been ruined or lost by the company.”
