The nontraditional pearl trend of the past few years has collided with the ‘90s and Y2K style revival to create an incredibly fun landscape of pearl designs. We’re so far past “not your grandmother’s pearls” that even your grandmother is wearing cool, contemporary pearl styles. That’s not to say that traditional pearls are over — they’re a classic and they always will be — but you’re more likely to see them with something unexpected rather than on a Chanel suit at the country club.
