AGA 2024 Tucson Conference and Gala and AGA’s 50th Anniversary Jubilee

(PRESS RELEASE) The annual AGA Tucson Gemological Conference and Gala will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona, marking the kick-off of AGA’s 50th Anniversary celebration! AGA invites all to attend. Registration options are available to gemology enthusiasts and guests globally.

The two events, hosted by AGA on the same day, offer flexibility for participation. Registration options include attendance at the conference and gala or gala only. Individuals unable to attend in person may benefit from the “recorded conference registration” for on-demand access to the conference education sessions when published by AGA. The conference will feature gemological sessions addressing a wide range of subjects and current research. Renowned presenters include:

  • Rachelle Turnier, PhD, Richard T. Liddicoat Postdoctoral Research Associate, GIA

Following the conference, the AGA Gala welcomes attendees to enjoy networking and relationship-building at the cocktail reception, followed by dinner, a silent auction, and music and dancing. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the 2023 AGA Antonio C. Bonanno Award for Excellence in Gemology (recipient to be announced in December).

AGA’s 50th Anniversary celebrations will launch in Tucson with distinguished guests sharing memories from five decades at the conference and gala. The year-long commemoration of AGA’s milestone will honor the contributions of individuals who have played a significant role in the Association’s development and success.

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options.
