(PRESS RELEASE) DALLAS — The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) has revealed the date pattern for its annual GemFair Tucson for the next three years. AGTA surveyed exhibitors, who overwhelmingly expressed their desire to continue a five-day show. The new date pattern, starting in 2027, will be for GemFair Tucson to open on a Sunday and end on a Thursday. This timeline will retain a five-day pattern while giving hundreds of attendees who prefer to shop on a weekend the opportunity to do so.
“The five-day format proved highly successful this year, with the vast majority of exhibitors reporting exceptional results,” says Bruce Bridges, AGTA Board President. “Buyer attendance increased by 7% in 2026 compared to the same five-day pattern in 2025. During the show, we surveyed our exhibitors and a very strong majority expressed a clear preference for maintaining the five-day format. In response, the Board elected to adopt a Sunday–Thursday schedule, with the strategic objective of re-engaging the more than 150 companies that did not participate in 2026 and that have historically favored weekend dates.”
Says AGTA’s CEO, John W. Ford, Sr., “I am thrilled that AGTA has set the format and the dates for GemFair Tucson for the next three years, allowing our attendees to plan their schedules and coordinate their travel.”

The opening night Toast to Tucson Party will take place on Sunday, and there will still be two days of seminars, dates to be decided, as well as an evening for the Spectrum & Cutting Edge Awards Gala.
