(PRESS RELEASE) ATLANTA, GA – Delivering on its ongoing commitment to the industry, the Atlanta Jewelry Show announces the addition of a virtual component, providing a multi-tiered format that adjusts to current market needs. The launch of the AJS eMarketplace has empowered AJS to create a hybrid program, allowing participants to access an online buying experience in September, plus attend a LIVE event in October.

According to SJTA Executive Director Libby Brown, “Our top commitment is the health and safety of our community, and we recognize that planning a live event in October comes with a bit of uncertainty due to daily changes in the pandemic restrictions and public sentiment. Monitoring the situation hour by hour, we are optimistic that the environment in October will allow us to host you safely and successfully in Atlanta. While optimistic, we are pragmatic to believe that not everyone will be ready to travel and for that reason, we have added this online buying event!”

The AJS Hybrid Experience

1. AJS eMarketplace, Tuesday, September 1, 2020

WHAT: One-Day Online Buying Experience
WHEN: Tuesday, September 1, Beginning at 12:00 pm EST
WHY: Virtual events will never replace face-to-face sales. However, due to ongoing challenges facing the supply chain, AJS offers a special opportunity for buyers to virtually connect with suppliers that may need extra production time.
WHO: AJS October Exhibiting Companies and Pre-Registered Retailers for the October event have exclusive access to this buying day.
HOW: Beginning in a virtual Lobby, participants will network in real time and roam the venue freely in this user-friendly platform. In the Exhibit Hall, buyers can browse the show floor, search exhibitors by name and category, and visit those booths.

Buyers will view products, catalogs, videos, and even have a live chat with their favorite sales-reps, and Show Specials will be available for the best deals. Exhibitors and buyers can instantly jump into private face-to-face video calls, text chat, or screen share sessions, offering a powerful way to keep building relationships, and make those sales happen in plenty of time for the holidays.

2. AJS LIVE, October 24-25, 2020, Cobb Galleria Centre Atlanta, GA

If buyers love to see things firsthand, touch and try on merchandise, and learn about new products from shopping the exhibit hall, this traditional trade show format satisfies that need. Many partners feed off the energy of networking and need the live interaction that the traditional trade show offers to make product buying decisions. The event will feature many of the brands, old and new, that are seeking that face to face event interaction. View the current health and safety plan, Safety Shines, here. The October in-person event will also include the ConnectED Conference (Pre-Show Education) LIVE on Friday, October 23, for the phenomenal education that AJS is known for.

For access to BOTH events, buyers should register today.

The Atlanta Jewelry Show LIVE experience will take place October 24-25, 2020 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Pre-registered retailers for this event will have access to the virtual eMarketplace on September 1. This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
