And the Answer to March’s Gem Quiz Was …

IT’S NO EASY thing breaking through to become jewelry’s latest darling, as Tashmarine – our March mystery stone — can attest. And nor is coming out top of the INSTORE Gem Quiz, which involves battling scores of super smart jewelers and riding the lucky hand of fortune as it dips into the big hat every month. But Jennifer Sabrio, an apprentice jeweler at Pattons Fine Jewelry in Baton Rouge, LA, managed to do all that and she walks away with this month’s grand prize – a Gem Geek T-shirt. After almost 60 years in business, Breakiron Jewelers in Erie, Pennsylvania, was closing its doors. And the store’s owner, Linda Breakiron, was ready for it. She had run the store as its sole owner since the beginning of the millennium and was looking forward to a change. Of course, she called Wilkerson. Breakiron talked to other jewelers who had used Wilkerson and was satisfied with their response. “They always had positive feedback,” she recalls.
