Artistry Celebrates 40 Years in Business

(PRESS RELEASE) CHICAGO, IL — Artistry, Ltd. celebrates 40 years in business. Founded by Laura Klemt in 1982, the company began by importing and selling Scandinavian jewelry.

Forty years later, Artistry, Ltd. offers an extensive line of 14K finished jewelry with semi-precious and precious gemstones, diamonds, and plain gold, in addition to a large sterling silver selection. In the past 5 years, Artistry, Ltd. has greatly expanded its specialty collections, offering unique Limited Edition and One-of-a-Kind pieces featuring hand-selected gemstones.

In 2007, Susan Klemt Williams, Laura’s daughter, joined the business and currently serves as President. Artistry, Ltd.’s team has also grown over the years and is comprised of multiple territory managers covering much of the United States, as well as an office staff working out of the company’s headquarters in Skokie, IL.

In 2017, Artistry, Ltd. debuted Graymoor Lane Designs, the company’s first branded collection, which is inspired by Laura and Susan’s love for mid-century architecture and design.

The constant throughout the past 40 years has been the wonderful relationships that Artistry, Ltd. has developed with its retailers, many of which have been customers for decades.

“It is such a joy to be a part of this phenomenal business.” says Susan Klemt Williams. “I am in awe of my mother’s hard work and dedication all these years.”

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
