DIAMONDS WERE OUT in full force at the King’s Trust Gala in New York. Both Ashley Graham and Kate Beckinsale wore multiple diamond pieces, and many were the designs of Suzanne Kalan. However, they brought on the bling in different styles.

Let’s start with Graham. She was on trend with cascading diamond earrings (Kalan’s classic angel drop earrings) that dipped down between her neck and shoulders. While this might have been enough to wear close to her face, with her collared shirt and jacket, she also layered two of Kalan’s tennis necklaces, hitting another trend for diamond statement necklaces and chokers. On someone else it might have been over the top, but Graham pulled it off.

Beckinsale, who always looks chic and elegant, wore her multiple diamond pieces a little more subtly. She stacked her earrings and wore a few rings, mixing Kalan with W. Solomon & Sons. She showed off a pair of linear drop earrings from W. Solomon & Sons with pear-shaped diamonds, combined with Kalan studs — one cluster-style with round cuts and the other with baguette cuts. She wore diamond rings from both companies.

Both celebrities lit up the night.

You Wouldn’t Cut Your Own Hair. Why Run Your Own Retirement Sale?

After being in business for over a quarter of a century, Wayne Reid, owner of Wayne Jewelers in Wayne, Pennsylvania, decided it was time for a little “me time.” He says, “I’ve reached a point in my life where it’s time to slow down, enjoy a lot of things outside of the jewelry industry. It just seemed to be the right time.” He chose Wilkerson to handle his retirement sale because of their reputation and results. With financial goals exceeded, Reid says he made the right choice selecting Wilkerson to handle the sale. “They made every effort to push our jewelry to the forefront of the showcases,” he says, lauding Wilkerson for their finesse and expertise. Would he recommend them to other jewelers who want to make room for new merchandise, expand their business or like him, decide to call it a day? Absolutely he says, equating trying to do this kind of sale with cutting your own hair. “The results are going to happen but not as well as if you have a professional like Wilkerson do the job for you.”
