The burglar entered with a gun, but the store owner shot first.

The owner of Leilani’s Jewelers in Torrance, CA, fatally shot a man that police said was trying to rob the store, the Daily Breeze reports. The article says that the burglar entered the store with a gun, but the store owner opened fire and killed the man. At the time of the shooting, they were the only two people in the store, and it was not immediately known if surveillance cameras were recording. Though police didn’t identify the owner, the article says that 59-year-old Tad Tanino has run the business for more than 30 years.
