Use David Geller’s system to clean your cases on a rotating basis:

  • Divide showcases into four groups: On the first of the month, start cleaning Group 1.
  • Remove all displays and bottom display pads.
  • Use glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth to clean inside then the outside glass.
  • Wipe down displays to remove smudges. Exchange any with stains that can’t be removed. Return to the factory for recovery and recycling.
  • Ensure all items have legible tags.
  • Polish, ultrasonic and steam-clean items.
  • Replace items in displays, with tags hidden or tucked. Reprint any faded or bad tags.
  • Replace the bottom showcase display mat and put displays back into the case.

Next month: Do Group 2.
