(PRESS RELEASE) LEOMINSTER, MA — Chris Ploof, designer and founder of Chris Ploof Designs, announces the launch of two new capsule collections, including a series of designs with ethically sourced invasive species leather inlays from Inversa Leathers and a new series of Precious Damascus bicycle chain bracelets. The designs are gender neutral but created with the current male jewelry trend in mind. Retail pricing for the Damascus steel with leather inlay styles range from $750 to $1,000. The new bike chain bracelets in silver and gold range from $3,400 to $5,500.
“I love mixing materials, especially things that others have not yet put together” said Ploof. “The look of the Python, Dragonfin, and Lionfish leathers with our hand-forged Damascus steel is really striking. And as an avid cyclist and former bicycle mechanic, these bike chain styles feel like part of my DNA. I also love a good challenge. I started with the goal of designing a cool bracelet clasp that was unique to us. The shape was influenced by bike chains, naturally, and the bracelets grew out of that. Not only do they look good; they are also very comfortable to wear.”
The leather inlay collection features Damascus steel cuffs and dog tag pendants with skins of invasive species Python, Lionfish, and Dragonfin, supplied by Inversa Leathers.
The bike chain bracelets come in sterling silver or stainless steel with accents of 18K yellow gold, Palladium 500, or 14K red gold.
“For those concerned about sustainability, using the leather of ethically sourced invasive species is not only great looking, it is also good for the planet,” adds Ploof.
