(Press Release)
NEW YORK – CIRCA Inc. has announced its acquisition of Hampton Estate Auctions. Hampton is a live online auction house operating for the past three years specializing in jewelry, watches, coins and silver. Prior to the acquisition, Hampton was owned and operated by Vadim Krivitsky & Associates, located in Lahaska, PA.

“The acquisition of Hampton will broaden the array of services CIRCA is able to offer to our global client base, giving our clients and customers another compelling reason to do business with CIRCA,” says Richard Tilles, president of CIRCA.

It is anticipated that Vadim Krivitsky will maintain his association with Hampton, working with CIRCA to further develop the auction business. Krivitsky says, “CIRCA’s global reach and multiple buying locations will provide new and exciting product to the Hampton auction site, giving Hampton’s customers a broader array of fine jewelry and luxury watch products to choose from, which will lead to significant growth opportunities for Hampton and CIRCA.”

“The addition of the Hampton auction site to CIRCA’s business portfolio is a strategic move that will better position CIRCA for revenue growth and improved profitability in the next few years,” says Laurence R. Grunstein, CIRCA CEO.

In addition to Hampton, CIRCA owns and operates PORTERO.com, a reseller of pre-owned luxury handbags, watches and jewelry. PORTERO was acquired by CIRCA in 2013.

You Wouldn’t Cut Your Own Hair. Why Run Your Own Retirement Sale?

After being in business for over a quarter of a century, Wayne Reid, owner of Wayne Jewelers in Wayne, Pennsylvania, decided it was time for a little “me time.” He says, “I’ve reached a point in my life where it’s time to slow down, enjoy a lot of things outside of the jewelry industry. It just seemed to be the right time.” He chose Wilkerson to handle his retirement sale because of their reputation and results. With financial goals exceeded, Reid says he made the right choice selecting Wilkerson to handle the sale. “They made every effort to push our jewelry to the forefront of the showcases,” he says, lauding Wilkerson for their finesse and expertise. Would he recommend them to other jewelers who want to make room for new merchandise, expand their business or like him, decide to call it a day? Absolutely he says, equating trying to do this kind of sale with cutting your own hair. “The results are going to happen but not as well as if you have a professional like Wilkerson do the job for you.”
