(PRESS RELEASE) Ellen Seckler has been promoted to the position of chief marketing officer, overseeing marketing functions for all Citizen Watch America brands.
Meanwhile, Susan Chandler was promoted to the role of chief merchandising officer.
Each brand’s marketing department will report to Seckler, with each brand continuing to build upon its distinctive identity in the market with unique, differentiated advertising, marketing and brand campaigns.
Seckler has for the past 30 years has worked for some of the largest watch groups. She began her career at North American Watch and the Movado Group and had successful stints at Gucci Group and Swatch Group. She came to Citizen in February 2012 as the integrated marketing director and most recently held the position of executive vice president of marketing.
Since joining Citizen, Seckler has led the brand’s growth into digital with the evolution of its web platform and launch of its e-commerce site.
“Ellen has been an integral part of the growth of the Citizen Watch brand and it’s with great pride that we announce her advancement to oversee the marketing initiatives for all Citizen Watch America brands,” said Jeffrey Cohen, president, Citizen Watch America.

Chandler will oversee the product development and merchandising functions for the Citizen and Bulova brands. Each brand’s product development and merchandising departments will report to Chandler.
A veteran in the fine and fashion jewelry industry, Chandler joined Bulova in early 2016 as senior vice president of merchandising. With more than 25 years of experience, Chandler has held senior merchant roles at Avon Products, Frederick Goldman Inc., Scott Kay and David Yurman as senior VP, general merchandise manager. In these positions, Chandler was responsible for driving brand growth through product development and merchandising, as well as optimizing product performance and increasing profitability.
Since joining Bulova, Chandler has brought these talents along with her diverse experience in assortment planning, product development and leading design teams. Overseeing all brands in the Bulova portfolio, she has been responsible for reorganizing and implementing product direction, merchandising and pricing strategies for growth.
“Since the addition of Susan to the Citizen Watch group, the design and product assortment of the Bulova brand has flourished,” said Cohen. “We look forward to having her expertise and creativity now on the Citizen side as she begins to oversee product development and merchandising.”
