CITIZEN Debuts New Citizen L Rainell

(PRESS RELEASE) In an era where individuality reigns, today’s woman is no longer satisfied with the ordinary — she craves unexpected shapes, striking colors, and distinct silhouettes that speak to who she is: confident, complex, and unapologetically original. CITIZEN unveils the new Rainell from the Citizen L ladies’ collection, a design-forward timepiece that dares to be different. Rooted in over a century of horological excellence and inspired by the brand’s Tokyo design archives, Rainell captures the evolution of femininity through bold form, refined artistry, and intentional detail.

Designed for the modern woman who seeks simplicity with a contemporary edge, Citizen L Rainell redefines what a ladies’ timepiece can be. The name “Rainell,” a poetic fusion of Rain and Bella (beautiful), evokes the essence of raindrops, perfectly mirroring a design language that is confident.

Today’s watch wearer stands out with subtlety, embracing styles that reflect personal taste and evolving fashion sensibilities. This shift is echoed in the trend toward smaller, unique shapes and new silhouettes, seen across the market and embraced by Citizen’s design team.

Citizen L Rainell is a signature response to this movement. A sculptural tear-drop case showcases the influence of Japanese artistry, blending organic softness with precise detailing. The dial is graced with hairline finishing reminiscent of rainfall, balanced by classic indexes and a voluminous three-row bracelet that creates a rhythmic sparkle with movement of the wrist.

This season’s most talked-about colors—from rich emerald green to royal purple—find their place in the Citizen L Rainell collection, offering tonal and monochromatic expressions that feel both luxurious and wearable. Each timepiece features a 26 x 31.3mm stainless steel case, spherical sapphire crystal, and 50m water resistance, made available in four distinct styles: stainless steel with a silver-tone dial, stainless steel with a rich purple dial, gold-tone stainless steel with a matching gold dial and rose gold-tone stainless steel with a striking green dial. Priced between $525 and $575, Citizen L Rainell offers a timeless blend of elegance and versatility.

Sustainably powered by any light, natural or artificial, Citizen L Rainell houses CITIZEN’s proprietary Eco-Drive*1 technology, which eliminates the need for battery replacement and significantly reduces environmental impact. As a pioneer of this innovation for nearly five decades, CITIZEN leads the way in sustainable watchmaking, creating thoughtfully designed timepieces that serve both people and the planet.
