Jewelers Vigilance Committee to Offer Webinar Series on Legal Risks




(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — The Jewelers Vigilance Committee will launch a live webinar series in May. This series is designed to help members of our industry avoid legal risks and implement legally compliant business practices. The sessions:

Tuesday, May 15, 2 p.m. – 2:45 pm (EDT)

This webinar will provide an overview of anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws, discuss the basics of what constitutes sexual harassment, how to prevent claims of sexual harassment, and how to handle employee complaints of sexual harassment. Presented by JVC’s senior counsel, Sara Yood.

Going Out of Business Is an Emotional Journey. Wilkerson Is There to Make It Easier.

Jaki Cowan, the owner of Sollberger’s in Ridgeland, MS, decided the time was right to close up shop. The experience, she says, was like going into the great unknown. There were so many questions about the way to handle the store’s going-out-of-business sale.
