(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK – Diamond Council of America (DCA), a non-profit organization that provides quality, affordable distance education and the opportunity to earn professional certifications in diamonds, colored gemstones, and fine jewelry sales, has announced that President & CEO Terry Chandler will retire from his position on December 31, 2025. Chandler, who has led the organization with distinction, has played a pivotal role in advancing DCA’s mission and strengthening educational opportunities within the jewelry industry.

“Terry Chandler’s dedication and leadership have been invaluable to the Diamond Council of America,” says Jennifer Hammond, Chair of the DCA Board of Directors. “His commitment to retail jewelers by providing affordable jewelry education has left a lasting impact on retailers across the country and we are deeply grateful for his contributions.”

Terry Chandler’s began his career in retail jewelry as a trainee for what was then a small family-owned chain of four jewelry stores Michelson Jewelers. During his tenure, he was a store manager, supervisor, Senior Vice President, and partner, in the chain that grew to twelve stores. He joined DCA as President and CEO in 2001 and has been instrumental in the growth of the organization.

“Diamond Council of America has been a huge part of who I am for decades. I am so thankful to the DCA Board of Directors, our members, my team, and Jewelers of America for their part in making DCA what it is today,” says Terry Chandler.

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
