While the program’s initiative and designer’s names involved were disclosed, the rings would not be revealed until they went live on the Blue Nile Site yesterday on Janauary 18th. The program not only helped small designers during the pandemic but it created a designer based collaboration for limited-edition and one-of-a-kind engagement ring for Blue Nile to attract a new generation of consumers who are getting engaged The De Beers Group provided the ethically and sustainably sourced diamonds from Botswana where the mines are held in a joint venture with the country’s government. Each diamond is under one-carat and is ethically and sustainably mined. The rings are all accessibly priced at $3000-$4500. The program called for each designer to reimagine the classic symbol of enduring love and commitment. The designers involved created one ring each and 10 pieces of that ring to be sold exclusively on Blue Nile. Betweeen the announcement in early December and yesterday, the rings have been kept under wraps and have finally been revealed. The following are the rings and the designers who were involved. ALMASIKA has created a ring named Serene in 18K yellow gold with a white diamond center. It has lines that are inspired by streams of water that envelope a rock. $3,690 Aurora Lopez Mejia named her ring Mara. It is 18k yellow gold with a white diamond and is a more chunky style ring with a burnished or gypsy set center diamond and the word Love inscribed in the center. $3,990 Bea Bongiasca created her ‘You’re So Mine’ ring in 18K yellow gold with a white diamond center and white enameling to add a modern vibe and play on white weddings. $3,390 Harwell Godfrey Motu engagement ring like her collection is influenced by her African ancestry. But there is a romantic aspect to this ring as well in that is in 18K yellow gold with white diamond and mother of pearl. “The look and feeling references my own engagement ring and the mother of pearl halo has ties to the island of Bora Bora where my husband and I honeymooned,” says designer Lauren Harwell Godfrey. $3,690 Lola Fenhirst’s ring named ‘The Union’ displays bead work on the shank that peaks and descends and then peaks again by the diamond which represents the coming together of two people once on separate journeys which now will become one they take together. It is created 18K rose gold with a white diamond center. $3,590 Marla Aaron has named her ring Di Me Siempre which in Spanish means “Tell Me Always” and is an interlocking ring which can be inscribed by hand in platinum with a white diamond center stone. $4,390 Michelle Fantaci’s Naledi ring is based on architecture of two great sites of Rome and how they work together to form a pattern that has inspired her exclusive ring which is designed in 18k rose gold with a white diamond center. $3,390 Pamela Love Treccia Ring is a mix of a woven band in 18K gold symbolizing two lives woven together.
