It could be worth more than Meghan Markle’s sparkler.

Princess Eugenie of the British Royal family is sporting a new engagement ring that includes a rare padparadscha sapphire.

The gem is likely about 3 carats, Brilliant Earth executive Kathryn Money told Newsweek. It’s surrounded by diamonds, and the band is mixed white and yellow gold, Newsweek notes.

The ring from Eugenie’s longtime beau, Jack Brooksbank, brings to mind one owned by Eugenie’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, according to the magazine. And it’s reminiscent of Kate Middleton’s ring in that they both feature sapphires.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, British gem expert Deborah Papas estimates the value of the ring at $140,000. That means the ring may be worth twice as much as the one worn by Meghan Markle, who will marry Prince Harry this year, according to the newspaper.

And of course, “the second she put it on her finger, the value increased exponentially,” Michael Fried, CEO of Diamonds Pro, said of Eugenie’s ring, according to Money magazine.

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
