(PRESS RELEASE) COLUMBIA, MD — After more than 53 years as Howard County’s original Jeweler, Edward Arthur Jewelers is going out of business. Owner Randy Brooks is retiring and closing the store, but not before hosting a huge going out of business sale.

You’re invited to Edward Arthur Jewelers to enjoy storewide savings of up to 70% off. Find once-in-a-lifetime prices on designer finds and fine jewelry including gold, diamonds, engagement rings, gemstones and more.

Originally established in 1971, Edward Arthur Jewelers opened its first store at The Mall in Columbia in 1971 as one of the mall’s original stores. A family-owned and operated business, it would become the longest-standing store in the mall and develop a sparkling reputation as a purveyor of independent jewelry, watches, appraisals, custom design and jewelry repair, along with its fair prices and unparalleled selection. In fact, they were honored as The BEST Place to Buy Jewelry in Columbia for 17 years in a row by Howard Magazine. Over the years, the store grew to include seven locations, and then eventually scaled back to the original location in The Mall in Columbia.

Current owner Randy Brooks was introduced to the jewelry business by his father, a World War II-era watchmaker and jewelry store owner, and his older brother, Edward, who originally established the store. After more than 53 shining years, and serving generations of Columbia families, Randy is ready for his next chapter. In his retirement, he looks forward to spending time with family and enjoying the novelty of being bored.

“From opening day, and in good times and bad, the community has supported us by shopping here, trusting us and believing in us,” said Randy. “No matter how big or small the purchase was, I want to say, ‘thank you’ for shopping with us.”

Please visit Edward Arthur Jewelers at The Mall in Columbia, upper deck next to Macy’s. Come in to wish Randy a happy retirement and to enjoy storewide savings of up to 70% off. At these incredible prices, inventory will sell out quickly, so don’t wait. The sale started June 4th.

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
