Faustino Alamo Dominguez (63) and Luis Angel Alamo (25) were killed in a jewelry store robbery on Saturday.

Chicago police said the gunman parked across the street around 5:49 PM Saturday, walked into the jewelry store, grabbed some jewelry and fled. The father and son chased him outside.

During an altercation in the street, the suspect opened fire, striking both men multiple times. Faustino Alamo fired off one or two shots with his own weapon, according to Chicago Sun-Times. Surveillance video captured the deadly confrontation.

Both men were pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.

“They were hardworking people,” Jeronimo Alamo, a relative who works at another jewelry store nearby, told the Chicago Sun-Times. “They are a very close family.”

Baltazar Enriquez, president of the Little Village Community Council, described the father and son to ABC 7 Chicago as “People that came from Mexico, started a business here in Little Village, and all they wanted was to reach that American dream.”

Flowers and candles now adorn the doorstep of the closed jewelry store.

The suspect, described as wearing a Blackhawks hoodie and mask, fled in a white Maserati SUV, police said.

No arrests have been made as Chicago police continue to investigate. The Jewelers’ Security Alliance and Cook County Crime Stoppers are each offering $10,000 rewards for information leading to an arrest. The Little Village Community Council’s Enriquez is offering an additional $20,000, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

Closing With Confidence: How Bailey's Fine Jewelry Achieved Outstanding Results With Wilkerson

When Trey Bailey, President and CEO of Bailey's Fine Jewelry, decided to close the Crabtree location in Raleigh, North Carolina after 15 years, he knew the decision needed to be handled with intention and professionalism. The goal was clear: exit the location while maintaining financial strength and honoring the store's legacy. Having worked with Wilkerson successfully in the past, Bailey understood the value of their comprehensive approach. "They understood both the emotional and financial sides of the store closing sale," Trey explains. "Their reputation for professionalism, results and care made it a very easy decision." The results exceeded expectations. Wilkerson helped Bailey's sell through significant inventory while maintaining the dignity of the closing process. "They don't just run a sale, they help close a chapter in the best way possible," Bailey says, strongly recommending Wilkerson to any jeweler facing a similar transition.
