Diamonds can form in space: There are diamonds in meteorites, meaning diamonds are literally out of this world. Some diamonds found on Earth are believed to have formed in space and were carried here by asteroids. So, when someone wears a diamond, they could be carrying a piece of the universe’s ancient history. SOURCE: FORBES, POPULAR MECHANICS, CNN
Diamonds are unbelievably old: So old they rank among the oldest minerals on Earth. Research using the rhenium-osmium decay system shows that some of these gems date back 3.5 billion years. Considering that Earth itself is about 4.5 billion years old, that means certain diamonds have been around for roughly three-quarters of the planet’s entire history! So, yeah, when they say “forever”, they MEAN it. SOURCE: GIA
Diamonds aren’t the hardest material: While diamonds are incredibly hard, they’re not the hardest material on Earth. Scientists have discovered or created at least six different materials that are even harder, such as wurtzite boron nitride (w-BN) and lonsdaleite (a rare form of diamond found in meteorites). (When sharing this factoid, dramatically clear your throat and sing the following words as though you were Shirley Bassey: “Wurtzite boron nitride is forever … forever … foreverrr.” Then add, “Doesn’t quite have the same ring, does it?” SOURCE: FORBES, POPULAR MECHANICS, CNN
Diamonds can burn: Diamonds will burn at about 1562°F (850°C). House fires and jewelers’ torches can reach that temperature. When diamonds burn, they will gradually rise in temperature and reach a white heat. Then, they will burn uninterruptedly with a pale-blue flame, even after the removal of the oxygen heat source. The diamond crystals will gradually decrease in size and finally disappear. SOURCE: GIA and IGS
They’re a powerful anniversary symbol: A diamond on a couple’s 10th or 20th anniversary tells her you would marry her all over again. SOURCE: SHANE DECKER

Closing With Confidence: How Bailey's Fine Jewelry Achieved Outstanding Results With Wilkerson
When Trey Bailey, President and CEO of Bailey's Fine Jewelry, decided to close the Crabtree location in Raleigh, North Carolina after 15 years, he knew the decision needed to be handled with intention and professionalism. The goal was clear: exit the location while maintaining financial strength and honoring the store's legacy.
Having worked with Wilkerson successfully in the past, Bailey understood the value of their comprehensive approach. "They understood both the emotional and financial sides of the store closing sale," Trey explains. "Their reputation for professionalism, results and care made it a very easy decision."
The results exceeded expectations. Wilkerson helped Bailey's sell through significant inventory while maintaining the dignity of the closing process. "They don't just run a sale, they help close a chapter in the best way possible," Bailey says, strongly recommending Wilkerson to any jeweler facing a similar transition.
