(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — April continues The Plumb Club’s educational podcasts geared at helping retailers with education, ideas and tips on business. Two new podcasts have been added to the learning library. This month, the podcasts focus on the importance of the relationship between retailers and their suppliers, offering a variety of expert insights into choosing a vendor and what expectations should be met. These podcasts are delivered by professionals in the industry. Here are this month’s additions:

Maximizing Vendor Retailer Partnerships:
What makes a great vendor/retailer relationship? These days a great vendor must be able to offer more than just products for sale. They must support the retailer across a variety of business categories. Sushil Chocksey, Julian Purifoy and Adam Freed of IDD discuss key expectations a retailer should have of a vendor and why it is important to move beyond just product and quality when considering a supplier. IDD is a trusted supplier to thousands of retailers nationwide for jewelry programs and best-selling bridal, as well as a curator of the industry’s best consumer finance program, all sully supported by marketing assets prepared by experts.

Evaluating Current Vendors and Considering New:
To stay current in today’s competitive market, a retailer must be open to new vendors. They must also be able to make critical decisions about existing vendors to ensure they are meeting customer desires and their business needs. In this podcast, Russ Whitehouse of Wilkerson makes the case for evaluating existing vendors, as well as discovering and engaging with new vendors, and how/where to find them when needed. Wilkerson is a professional jewelry consultant firm with industry experts who help with transitions. Wilkerson Express is the jewelry division of Wilkerson, offering a delivery jewelry line of exciting designs that help retailers maximize margins.

The Plumb Club podcasts, which are added monthly, provide strategies, knowledge and immediately actionable steps from industry leaders, that help retailers across a variety of business areas. The newest podcasts, as well as previous ones, are available in the “Listen” area at the Jewelers Resource Center or on The Plumb Club website under “Resources”.

Family Legacy, New Chapter: How Wilkerson Turns 89 Years of History Into Future Success

After 89 years of serving the Albany community, Harold Finkle Your Jeweler faced a pivotal decision. For third-generation owner Justin Finkle, the demanding hours of running a small business were taking precious time away from his young family. "After 23 years, I decided this was the time for me," Finkle explains. But closing a business with nearly nine decades of inventory and customer relationships isn't something easily managed alone. Wilkerson's comprehensive approach transformed this challenging transition into a remarkable success story. Their strategic planning handled everything from advertising and social media to inventory management and staffing — elements that would overwhelm most jewelers attempting to navigate a closing sale independently. The results speak volumes. "Wilkerson gave us three different tiers of potential goals," Finkle notes. "We've reached that third tier, that highest goal already, and we still have two weeks left of the sale." The partnership didn't just meet financial objectives—it exceeded them ahead of schedule.
