(PRESS RELEASE) Ethical Metalsmiths (dba Community for Ethical Jewelry) is grateful to be the recipient of an $11,000 donation from New York-based fine jewelry brand, FoundRae, known for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and conscious design.

The funds were raised from the donations of FoundRae clients who participated in the brand’s fourth annual Earth Day Ingot Program, during which customers bring in 8-10 grams of their own gold or silver to be melted down and repurposed into one of FoundRae’s signature Ingot designs, giving new life to their unused gold.

“We launched our Ingot Program as a way to connect our designs with deeper meaning and action,” said Beth Hutchens, Creative Director and Co-Founder of FoundRae. “Ethical Metalsmiths is doing important work to push the industry forward in terms of transparency and sustainability. We are honored to contribute to their mission each year.”

Brandee Dallow, President of Ethical Metalsmiths, emphasized the significance of these partnerships: “Collaborations like this are essential to driving real change within the jewelry industry. Support from purpose-driven brands like FoundRae not only provides crucial funding for our programs, but also helps amplify the message of ethical responsibility to a wider audience. We are incredibly grateful for FoundRae’s generous donation and their ongoing commitment to making a positive impact.”

This partnership underscores FoundRae’s belief that luxury and sustainability are not mutually exclusive – and that every purchase has the power to make a difference.

About FoundRae

Authentic. Classic. Personal. Autobiographical. These are a few of the words used to describe the FoundRae Collection, which is more than jewelry; they are modern heirlooms, ones that allow the wearer to express something of oneself to the world. The FoundRae collection is intended to become part of the wearer, a second skin, to be an expression of identity and of personal values.

And like all heirlooms, these pieces tell a story. The story they tell is both ancient-for what is more timeless than our personal quests for inner peace, for love, for strength as well as highly relevant.

The collection is founded on a lexicon of archetypal mythological and classical symbols with the intention of inspiring the wearer to take the wisdom passed down through generations and apply that to one’s own life. FoundRae is a reminder, one we wear against our hearts or on our hands, of our capacity for change and growth. When you wear one of these pieces, you are announcing to yourself and to the world that everything you want and everything you want to be is already inside you-all you have to do is claim it.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
