Frederick Goldman Licenses Tungsten Carbide to Thorsten Jewelry

(PRESS RELEASE) SECAUCUS, NJ – Frederick Goldman, Inc., (FGI) will now license Tungsten Carbide material to Thorsten Rings, LLC, a men’s wedding band wholesaler based in Long Beach, California. Thorsten is FGI’s newest licensee of the patented material.

Frederick Goldman, Inc. is the exclusive licensee of the Trent West Tungsten Carbide (US Patent No. 6,928,734) which remains in effect until August 23, 2023. FGI has the rights to add additional licensees at its sole discretion. Only those authorized licensees can sell Tungsten Carbide wedding rings in the market.

Over the past 10 years FGI has also built up its own portfolio of patents on unique coatings and construction processes. In 2015, FGI launched Triton’s White Tungsten Carbide which obtains its color through a patented nano-technology multi-layered coating applied to the surface of the metal. The proprietary coating process is specifically designed to enhance the color and provide extra protection and durability to prolong the life and luster of the coated products. Frederick Goldman Inc. also has a Patent Pending on a multi-piece construction featuring a virtually seamless design that combines contemporary metals with precision-machined 14K Gold. This design allows for a perfectly smooth fit on the inside of the ring which is superior to anything the competition is offering. The patent application covers the use of Tungsten Carbide as well as all other precious and contemporary metals in the FGI portfolio.

The latest addition to FGI’s patent application is the Patent Pending on DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated components in men’s rings. DLC is a carbon-based coating with some properties of diamond that is often used in luxury watches, and high-end performance tools for its tough, protective, and adhesive qualities over traditional PVD coating. FGI has created a hybrid multi-layer process utilizing nano-technology to apply the DLC coating (patent pending). This coating helps minimize overall corrosion and wear resistance while maintaining a luxurious heavyweight and comfortable feel.
