(PRESS RELEASE) CARLSBAD, CA — The Grown Diamond Trade Organization (GDTO) announced a major milestone in the lab-grown diamond industry—the production of the 50,000th GDTO Jewelry Report. This achievement highlights GDTO’s continued commitment to help their members deliver ethically sourced, environmentally conscious, and visually stunning diamond jewelry through transparent practices.

In response to the rising demand for sustainable luxury, GDTO has revolutionized how lab-grown diamonds are presented to consumers. Marty Hurwitz, Executive Director of GDTO, noted:

“Consumers will make a more sustainable choice given the option and for the first time that option is now available with a focus on what differentiates lab-grown diamonds from the legacy of mined diamonds.”

Prior to the creation of GDTO’s Jewelry Reports, there was no consistent way for retailers to convey a lab-grown diamond’s unique ethical and environmental benefits to customers. Today, GDTO’s detailed sustainability survey and the innovative GDTO Jewelry Reports combine to provide that trusted solution. These reports empower diamond growers, jewelry manufacturers, and retailers to share honest and accurate sustainability ratings with consumers at the point of sale in addition to the traditional Color and Clarity grades.

The achievement of this 50,000-report milestone was made possible by the early adoption and vigorous support of GDTO member companies.

GDTO’s Jewelry Reports assist retailers by providing consumers with additional confidence in their lab-grown diamond jewelry purchase.

GDTO remains dedicated to supporting the industry, by advancing best practices, transparency, and consumer trust. This 50,000-report milestone represents a significant step forward toward the achievement of those objectives.

Two More Key Industry Leaders Join GDTO Advisory Board

Leon Peres, CEO of Green Rocks an early leader in the lab-grown diamond space has joined the GDTO Advisory Board.

“As consumer demand continues to grow, we need a strong organization like GDTO to help shape the future of this explosive fine jewelry category. GDTO will speak to the trade and consumer in a unified voice,” said Peres.

Riddhika Poddar of Aarush Diam, a next generation leader of a 40-year-old diamond family dynasty, has also joined the GDTO Advisory Board as the first female member.

Poddar added: “I see consumer demand increasing way more than what it was last year and the year before that. At first it was very USA centric. Now it’s opening in Europe, Australia, even India.” She continued: “I’m happy to support GDTO and their mission to unite growers, manufacturers, and retailers to create a single voice for consumers and unify this rapidly growing segment of the jewelry market.”

Family Legacy, New Chapter: How Wilkerson Turns 89 Years of History Into Future Success

After 89 years of serving the Albany community, Harold Finkle Your Jeweler faced a pivotal decision. For third-generation owner Justin Finkle, the demanding hours of running a small business were taking precious time away from his young family. "After 23 years, I decided this was the time for me," Finkle explains. But closing a business with nearly nine decades of inventory and customer relationships isn't something easily managed alone. Wilkerson's comprehensive approach transformed this challenging transition into a remarkable success story. Their strategic planning handled everything from advertising and social media to inventory management and staffing — elements that would overwhelm most jewelers attempting to navigate a closing sale independently. The results speak volumes. "Wilkerson gave us three different tiers of potential goals," Finkle notes. "We've reached that third tier, that highest goal already, and we still have two weeks left of the sale." The partnership didn't just meet financial objectives—it exceeded them ahead of schedule.
