(PRESS RELEASE) BOSTON, MA h&mdash Hearts On Fire, a diamond jewelry brand under Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group, announced the appointment of Rita Maltez to the role of Global President, effective immediately. Ms. Maltez will report directly to Sonia Cheng, vice-chairman of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group.

Said Ms. Cheng, “As we continue building upon the momentum that Hearts On Fire has set in motion, I’m confident that Rita’s unparalleled industry experience, accomplished track record, and proven leadership will further strengthen and advance the Hearts On Fire brand and teams around the world.”

Ms. Maltez, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the gem and jewelry industry, first joined Hearts On Fire in April 2021 as Acting Global President, leading the brand’s teams across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and North America. Ms. Maltez will continue to lead Hearts On Fire’s global commercial and business strategies to grow the brand’s market presence, strengthen the core product offering, optimize distribution channels, and modernize consumer touchpoints and experiences.

Prior to joining Hearts On Fire, Ms. Maltez worked with Rio Tinto, one of the world’s largest global mining groups, for almost two decades, where she held strategic and commercial roles across several divisions and geographies, including serving as head of Rio Tinto Diamonds for Asia.

Ms. Maltez was also the Principal & Founder of Bravva Consulting, where she worked with leading international brands, including the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Swarovski, on corporate strategies and new business initiatives across product, brand and operations.
