Mark Snyder, owner of Snyder Jewelers in South Weymouth, has joined Weymouth Bank as a newly elected corporator. He was welcomed by the bank’s board of directors and officially was inducted to the Weymouth Bank’s Board of Corporators at their May 28 annual meeting.

The role of a corporator is a unique opportunity offered to respectable leaders of the community who become advisors to the bank for a designated period of time.

As an ambassador for Weymouth Bank and a liaison between the bank and the community, Snyder will play an important role, acting as Weymouth Bank’s “eyes and ears” and by promoting various products and services.

“Mark is perfect for this role and will be a resourceful corporator. He is a successful business owner in Weymouth and a leader in the communities we serve, and his wealth of knowledge of the local business and social environment along with his extensive list of contacts will certainly help increase community awareness of Weymouth Bank,” said Robert W. Terravecchia Jr., President & CEO of Weymouth Bank. “We look forward to his advice and networking contributions as we continue to engage in the communities we serve.”

Snyder, 45, is owner/operator of Snyder Jewelers, a leading jewelry store in Columbian Square, Weymouth, voted Best Jeweler in Weymouth for the past 9 consecutive years and Best Jeweler in Region for the last two years.

The Plymouth resident (originally from Whitman) opened Snyder Jewelers with his father Gary in 1992 and has worked in the jewelry industry since 1983, is a Curry College Graduate,  a Certified Senior Management Professional (C.S.M.P.) and has achieved a GIA Graduate Diamond Degree along with numerous certifications.

An active member of the community and member of many local associations, Mark Snyder proudly gives back, sponsoring schools, teams and many civic fundraising events throughout the local region and also volunteers as an assistant coach of the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School wrestling team.

Addressing the importance of his new role with Weymouth Bank, Snyder noted, “I am thrilled to become part of the Weymouth Bank team and look forward to assisting the bank in increasing its visibility, credibility and importance in the community and welcome the opportunity to represent the bank as a center of influence.”
