Wilkerson Testimonials

Texas Jeweler Knew He'd Get Only One Shot at a GOB Sale, So He Wanted to Make It Count

Most retailers only have one GOB sale in their lifetimes. This was the case for Gary Zoet, owner of Shannon Fine Jewelry in Houston, Texas. “Wilkerson has done thousands of these sales,” says Zoet. “I’ve never done one, so it’s logical to have somebody with experience do it.” The result exceeded Zoet’s expectations. Wilkerson took care of everything from marketing to paperwork. When it’s time for you to consider the same, shouldn’t you trust the experts in liquidation?

  • Rolex timepieces are still strong. In fashion, John Hardy had a great month. Engagement rings rounded out our best category for January. — Tonia Ulsh, Mountz Jewelers, Camp Hill, PA
  • Customers have been coming in for wedding bands … lots of custom bands to make. We’ll take it! — Mary Jo Chanski, Hannoush Jewelers, Rutland, VT
  • Repairs and custom drove our sales for January. It seems like everything needs to be customized now so that it makes it personal and sentimental! — Annette Kinzie, Leonard Jewelry, Stillwater, OK
  • Surprisingly, pearls were the stars in January. I am seeing a return to the classic pearl choker with a simple diamond clasp. I have noticed clients being more knowledgeable, looking for ocean pearls vs. freshwater ones, white satin lined boxes for storage. One even checked every knot to be satisfied they were uniform. All things I typically lecture about, but lo and behold, most already knew what to do! I am liking these new knowledgeable clients; it makes sales so much easier. — James Doggett, Doggett Jewelry, Kingston, NH

  • Diamonds! At the beginning of November, we sold our biggest diamond to date: a 2.02-carat VVS1 E oval. But by mid-month, we had another client in for something bigger and we broke our own record with a 2.63-carat SI2 H emerald-cut. Not sure what’s in the water, but more please! Jennifer Farnes, Revolution Jewelry Works, Colorado Springs, CO
  • Midas Chain and Carla gold earrings, silver by Dobbs Boston and special orders. David Swanson, Swanson Jewelers, Arlington, MA
