(IDEX Online News) – Price of round diamonds generally continued to fall, extending a long-running pattern. Items in the 0.23-0.29 carat category showed the significant downward movement, with price drops of up to 19 percent. Goods in the 0.90-1.00 carat category also showed widespread downward movment, with falls as much as 16 percent. Items in the 0.30-0.39 carat category, however, showed some upward movement. Some positive changes also took place in goods sized 1.50-1.99 carats, but the previous month’s gains in goods above 5 carats did not recur.
The picture overall was more positive for fancy shapes, as there were more upward price changes. The most positive movement was seen in goods sized between 0.30-0.49 carats, with increases across the board – some as high as 10 percent. Price movement in items sized 5 carats and above saw many positive changes.

After 139 Years, A Family Legacy Finds Its Perfect Exit With Wilkerson.
When third-generation jeweler Sam Sipe and his wife Laura decided to close Indianapolis’ historic J.C. Sipe Jewelers, they turned to Wilkerson to handle their retirement sale. “The conditions were right,” Sam explains of their decision to close the 139-year-old business. Wilkerson managed the entire going-out-of-business sale process, from marketing strategy to sales floor operations. “Our goal was to convert our paid inventory into retirement funds,” notes Sam. “The results exceeded expectations.” The Sipes’ advice for jewelers considering retirement? “Contact Wilkerson,” Laura says. “They’ll help you transition into retirement with confidence and financial security.”
