(Press Release) Young jewelry designers will be arriving in Italy from all over the world thanks to the efforts of Italian Exhibition Group, the trade show company created by the merger of Rimini Fiera and Fiera di Vicenza. In fact, the names of the 22 finalists of the international Next Generation – Jewellery Talent Contest specifically for under-30 talents have been announced, and their creations will be on display at an exhibition dedicated to “Jewellery and Function,” the theme of the 2017 competition, which will open in Vicenza during the next VICENZAORO September, scheduled Sept. 23-27.

The works of these future jewelry industry talents will be hosted inside the Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza at the Museo del Gioiello, the jewelry museum under the directorship of Alba Cappellieri, professor of jewelry design at Milan Polytechnic and Italy’s leading scholar within the sector.

The three winners from among the 22 finalists will be announced and awarded at the museum Sept. 22.

The finalists were selected by a jury and come from nine countries: France, Italy, Argentina, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, China, Israel and Norway.

The contest, now in its sixth edition and promoted by IEG in collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic’s School of Design, is a scouting tool for enhancing and promoting up-and-coming creative talent on the international jewelry scene. Project designs presented have been subsequently produced by jewelry companies associated with the Women Jewellery Association Italy and by some VICENZAORO exhibitors, such as Roberto Coin, Falcinelli Italy, FANCS V., De Simone and Eurocatene srl.

The Museo del Gioiello is the result of IEG’s commitment to promoting the cultural universe of Italian gold and jewelry, sectors in which the company is recognized as an international business hub with its VICENZAORO international show.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
