This present has “a little bit of charisma.”

A jeweler in Chattanooga provided the perfect Valentine’s Day gift to a local fire official who was injured in an automobile crash.

Matthew Mann, fire chief at Walker State Prison, was involved in a head-on collision while on the way to Rossville, GA, on Jan. 19 with his department, WRCB-TV reports. He suffered numerous fractures to the arms and legs, along with internal bleeding.

In the days that followed, Mann underwent numerous surgeries, and he’s been participating in physical therapy.

Throughout his recovery, Jessica Strange, whom he had been dating for a month at the time of the crash, stayed by his side. That inspired him to pop the question — even though he couldn’t leave the hospital to shop for a ring.

Hearing about the situation, Jerry Tessmann of Dayle May Jewelers decided to help by donating an engagement ring.

“One that has a little bit of charisma,” Tessmann told WRCB. “She is going to love it!”

The news station reports: “Now just days from saying ‘I do,’ the couple calls this a happy ending to a difficult chapter, as they look ahead to their lives together.”

Tessmann says her business tries to do good deeds in the community whenever possible.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
