(Press Release) NEW YORK — Jewelers for Children and Jewelers of America announced that their “Celebrate New York” event will take place at the Jacob Javits Center on March 12 in conjunction with the JA New York Spring Show. The event serves to raise money and garner exposure for this industry charity with drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a DJ and dancing.
“Celebrate New York is a key opportunity to have a hometown presence here in New York City,” said David Rocha, executive director for Jewelers for Children. “This event is a great opportunity to network with friends and colleagues in the relatively relaxed environment of New York City! Hosting the event on site at the Javits Center should serve to maximize both attendance, and awareness for the organization.”
“We are always honored to support Jewelers for Children,” said Dave Bonaparte, president and CEO of Jewelers of America, co-organizer of Celebrate New York. “JFC is very important to our industry and to the many charities with which they partner. We encourage our members to attend the JA New York Show and come together at Celebrate New York to network in a fun, relaxed environment for a good cause.”
“We are delighted that Jewelers for Children is hosting their event at the Javits Center,” enthused Drew Lawsky, group show director for JA New York Shows. “Our co-location with MJSA and the Antique Watch and Jewelry Show, LUEUR, means we should see even greater attendance than in years past. JFC is such an important organization, we like to support them however and whenever we can.”
Celebrate New York will be held in the Special Events Hall at the Jacob Javits Center, March 12, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Proceeds will go toward supporting Jewelers for Children’s partner charities: CASA, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Santa-America and Make-a- Wish America.
Tickets to attend Celebrate New York are $50 and can be secured by returning the order form found here. Jewelers of America members can register for free here. Celebrate New York is sponsored in part by Synchrony Financial.
