(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Jewelers for Children (JFC) has launched a new element to the popular Rings of Strength 5k Run/Walk Series, now powered by Shivam Jewels. With the help of Shivam Jewels and their team JFC is improving Rings of Strength by creating the Trinity of Purpose series, a program that encourages participants to join at least three Rings of Strength events annually, and adding in a versatile virtual option. The next in person version of Rings of Strength will take place September 8th in Carlsbad at AGS and GIA’s Converge.
Rings of Strength is named in honor of the bond between Maggie and Odie who met in 2003 while battling cancer, forming a bond that would last a lifetime. Before he passed, Odie told Maggie that having cancer was worth it because he got to meet her. One day, Maggie gave Odie a ring. It was a “Ring of Strength”—a symbol of being stronger together. Those rings became more than just a childhood promise. They became a message. Now, Maggie is a doctor, helping others just as Odie helped her.
Today, Rings of Strength is more than a name. It’s a movement powered by stories like Maggie and Odie’s—of resilience, community, and hope. By joining JFC in three races participants can show their commitment to the cause with a Trinity of Purpose metal and e-badge. “Charity runs are a perfect space where individuals come together with deeper meaning and purpose especially when aligned with major industry events. These gatherings become more than runs; they become symbols of solidarity and support for shaping a better future for children. Coming from the world of crafting natural diamonds where brilliance is harnessed from rough, initiatives with children feel very personal. That’s when I reached out to Sara, and Trinity of Purpose was born. I’m proud to see it launch at Converge, a mega industry event, amplifying JFC’s mission with a movement that’s built to last.” Says Priyal Shankar of Shivam Jewels.
It is easy to join Trinity of Purpose, by registering for any three JFC Rings of Strength events in a 12 month period, any of which can be online or virtual. To register for the virtual and Carlsbad editions of the 5k and create an easy peer-to-peer fundraising site, go to jewelersforchildren.org. Registration for Las Vegas will open in January.
“Rings of Strength has a long history of contributing positively to both JFC’s fundraising and the jewelry community. We hope that folks that can’t make it to Carlsbad will register for the virtual run and join us for as many events as they can. ” notes Sara Murphy, Executive Director of JFC.

Exceeding Every Expectation: How Wilkerson Helped d’Original Jewelers Achieve an Outstanding Retirement Sale
When David Rees decided to retire after 34 years of serving Bellevue, Washington’s Eastside, he and his wife knew their exit from d’Original Jewelers needed to honor their decades-long commitment to customers while meeting their financial goals. Since opening in 1990, David had built a reputation as one of the area’s most trusted names for diamonds, custom jewelry, and repairs.
Understanding that a successful retirement sale requires more than just discounting merchandise, David chose Wilkerson to manage his transition. What impressed him most was their attention to detail, particularly in accounting and sales projections. The results far exceeded his expectations — the sale significantly outperformed projections, delivering exceptional financial results that surpassed his retirement goals.
“They were always there for support. If we needed anything, they were able to accomplish that,” David shares. For jewelers contemplating retirement, David’s experience demonstrates Wilkerson’s proven ability to deliver outstanding results while providing comprehensive support throughout the entire process. His recommendation? “100% yes.”
