(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, and the GEM Awards Committee have announced Ana Khouri will be the recipient of the 2026 GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence. The prestigious award will be presented at the 24th annual GEM Awards on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. GEM Awards honors the outstanding achievements of individuals or companies whose work raises the visibility and status of fine jewelry and watches.

The GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence is awarded to a brand for excellence in high jewelry design. The award is given to a company for a collection or series of collections that increase consumer demand for high jewelry.

“The GEM Awards Committee is honored to present Ana Khouri with the GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence. Through a sculptural approach rooted in fine art, the Ana Khouri has established a distinct and influential voice within high jewelry, defined by exceptional craftsmanship and ethical materials. Ana Khouri’s work continues to elevate the category, offering designs that resonate deeply with collectors while expanding the boundaries of what high jewelry can be,” says Jewelers of America’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Amanda Gizzi.

Founded by artist and jeweler Ana Khouri, the Ana Khouri brand is grounded in a sculptural fine-arts practice that has informed its jewelry since 2002. The house opened its New York salon in 2013 and has since presented high jewelry through major solo exhibitions at Phillips, Sotheby’s, and Christie’s, as well as at TEFAF New York. One-of-a-kind pieces are shown exclusively at the New York salon, while numbered limited editions are presented at The Row worldwide. All jewelry is crafted using 18K Fairmined gold, platinum, and ethically and responsibly sourced gemstones.

In addition to the GEM Award for High Jewelry Excellence, GEM Awards will also be given in the categories of Lifetime Achievement, Jewelry Design, Media Excellence and Retail Innovation.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
