Jewelers of America Board Elects New Directors

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK – Jewelers of America, the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, elected three industry leaders to its Board of Directors at its biannual Board meeting in New York on July 16. The new directors elected to a three-year term are Chad Berg of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, David Bouffard of Signet Jewelers and Camile Hannoush of Hannoush Jewelers.

“We are proud to welcome Camile, Chad and David to the Jewelers of America Board of Directors. Together, they provide a vast amount experience and will be able assist Jewelers of America as we continue to support our members with the highest level of programs and benefits. I look forward to working with them,” says JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte.

Berg is the co-owner and vice president of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, where he serves in an executive role over their New Orleans and Lafayette, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi locations. He directs the marketing department and assists with numerous buying functions within the company. He holds a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of American and is immediate past-president for Jewelers of Louisiana and a board member for Jewelers’ Security Alliance and Jewelers for Children.

Bouffard is the vice president of Signet Corporate Affairs at Signet Jewelers. He is a leader in the area of corporate social responsibility as showcased in the initiatives he oversees as vice president of Signet Corporate Affairs and his service on industry boards and committees including the Responsible Jewellery Council, World Diamond Council and CIBJO. Bouffard is also the corporate liaison to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, SickKids and Akron Children’s Hospital.

Hannoush started in the jewelry business in 1980 under his namesake store Hannoush Jewelers. Since day one, he and his eight brothers have been partners of a family business with over 60 independent stores. The business and family have both grown together. Hannoush’s three daughters, DeAnna, Alycia and Tanya, have all found their own place in Hannoush Jewelers. Now, almost 38 years after the business’ inception, Hannoush retains his passion for his family and their story.

During the meeting, JA’s executive team and the JA Board thanked outgoing directors Lane Schiffman of Schiffman’s, Greensboro, NC; and Betsy Wolgemuth of Koser Jewelers, Mount Joy, PA.

“Lane and Betsy have made tremendous contributions to our Board of Directors and our association. We thank them for their years of service and their commitment to Jewelers of America’s mission,” said JA President and CEO David J. Bonaparte.

JA’s Board of Directors is led by an Executive Committee comprised of Chairman John Henne, Henne Jewelers; Chair-Elect Holly Wesche, Wesche Jewelers; Vice Chair Cathy Tivol, TIVOL; Vice Chair Karen Goracke, Borsheims; Treasurer Robert F. Moeller II, R.F. Moeller Jeweler and Secretary Coleman Clark, BC Clark Jewelers.
