Jewelers of America Opens Scholarship Applications

Scholarships available for the Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarship and JA’s Scholarship Program for a variety of educational providers.

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, is now accepting enrollments for the Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarship and the Jewelers of America scholarship program, which is open to employees of JA Member companies, on renowned industry diploma, professional development, and certification programs.

“Jewelers of America is committed to the growth of the jewelry industry, and we believe in career development through education and certification to enhance the level of professionalism for jewelry professionals. To better serve the industry, we strive to provide affordable options for our JA members as well as future bench jewelers, ensuring the career pathway is an enticing one,” says JA President & CEO David Bonaparte.

The Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman Bench Scholarship is a partnership created by Jewelers of America and Seymour & Evelyn Holtzman that provides tuition help to students enrolled in an accredited bench jeweler or metalsmith education program. Applications are open until June 12, 2025. Recipients will be selected by a committee in June.

The Jewelers of America Scholarship Program is open until September 30, 2025 or until all funds are dispersed. Scholarships can be awarded programs and certifications from the American Gem Society (AGS), American Society of Appraisers (ASA), Diamond Council of America (DCA), Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA). Applicants must be an employee at a JA Member store and at least 18 years of age. They must have at least one year’s experience working in a JA Member store and are not already enrolled in another home study course by any of the educational providers.

To make sure scholarship funds are widely distributed among members, scholarships will be awarded to only one person per store – a limit of three per membership – during the enrollment period from May 1 through September 30, 2025. Scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds.
