Weapon collapses after ‘jeweler to the stars’ tries to seize it.

A would-be robber fled a Midtown Manhattan jewelry store after his gun fell apart in his hand, CBS New York reports. The weapon, a BB gun, collapsed after the man struggled for it with Rafael Aranbayev, owner of Rafaello and Co. on West 47th Street. According to the report, the suspect asked to see a chain in a display case, then held the gun to an employee’s head when Aranbayev went to the back of the store for the key. Known as a jeweler to the stars, Rafaello and Co. reportedly has served clients including Jay Z, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and Khloe Kardashian.
