(PRESS RELEASE) OLD KAPAA TOWN, KAUAI, HAWAII — After 47 years of serving the island community of Kauai, Jim Saylor is retiring and closing the doors of his jewelry business for good. To celebrate his shining legacy and the remarkable relationships he’s made over the years, he will be holding a huge Going Out of Business Sale starting Tuesday, March 7th. During this event, you can save up to 70% off the store’s entire selection of fine contemporary jewelry, pearls, diamonds, gold, gemstone jewelry, vintage treasures and more.

The story of Jim Saylor Jewelers began in 1976. Jim Saylor had $150 in his pocket and a tackle box of jewelry tools when he set up shop in the back closet of a shop and went to work. With zero formal training he started doing trade work, such as ring sizing and repairs. He eventually expanded the business into custom, repairs and restoration work.

For more than four decades Jim’s business flourished in the same location. He built an incredibly strong customer base who adored his beautifully handcrafted treasures, pieces that celebrated special moments and milestones. Through listening and authentically caring for his customers, Jim built long-lasting relationships and friendships. Generations of families came to Jim to create breathtaking pieces that would commemorate their most precious moments and stand the test of time. Even now, some of his pieces still shine brightly after 40 years.

Jim says the key to his success is his passion. “I love what I do. I dive in head-first on any project.” He further commented: “I’m so incredibly honored to be part of this small island community and be supported personally and professionally by everyone here. The friendships and relationships I’ve developed through my business have been wonderful and I feel really blessed.”

During the final weeks of Jim Saylor Jewelers, stop by to share your stories with Jim and send him off with well wishes. And beginning March 7th, you can shop from an incredible selection of fine jewelry, all up to 70% off.

Four Decades of Excellence: How Wilkerson Transformed a Jeweler's Retirement into Celebration

After 45 years serving the Milwaukee community, Treiber & Straub Jewelers owner Michael Straub faced a significant life transition. At 75, the veteran jeweler made a personal decision many business owners understand: "I think it's time. I want to enjoy my wife with my grandchildren for the next 10, 15 years." Wilkerson's expertise transformed this major business transition into an extraordinary success. Their comprehensive approach to managing the going-out-of-business sale created unprecedented customer response—with lines forming outside the store and limits on how many shoppers could enter at once due to fire safety regulations. The results exceeded all expectations. "Wilkerson did a phenomenal job," Straub enthuses. "They were there for you through the whole thing, helped you with promoting it, helping you on day-to-day business. I can't speak enough for how well they did." The partnership didn't just facilitate a business closing; it created a celebratory finale to decades of service while allowing Straub to confidently step into his well-earned retirement.
