Vice President Joe Biden’s wife drives a hard bargain, as one jeweler in Turkey learned last week. Between meetings with world leaders in Istanbul, Biden accompanied his wife Jill to a local bazaar where he watched her haggle with a jeweler over the price of a necklace, The Washington Times reports. The article says she ended up buying the $350 necklace for $100, with Biden crediting the sizeable discount to her negotiating efforts as well as “the large Secret Service agent standing a few feet away.”
